Worship
at Immanuel Baptist Church is the common ground where all types and ages of
the church come together to meet God. Worship is communion with God in which
believers center their minds attention and their hearts affection on the Lord.
As we sing, pray, listen to the preaching of God's Word, commit ourselves and
give, we have opportunity to commune with God. The Music and Worship Ministry
seeks to use music and the related arts to lead the church into an ever deepening
relationship with Christ.
Because
of Immanuel's diversity in backgrounds and ages, our worship life is characterized
by a great deal of variety. Almost every service will include traditional hymns
as well as more recent praise choruses. The sounds of the Schantz Pipe organ
will rise along with the piano, orchestra, drums and guitars. Drama, banners
and multi-media technologies are also used to bring fresh revelation of the
Word and a personal encounter with Christ.
Every
child, woman and man participates in the Music and Worship Ministry through
our gatherings for corporate worship. God has gifted literally hundreds of individuals
to sing, play instruments, operate cameras, present drama, create banners and
on and on... Listed below are some of the opportunities provided through the
Music and Worship Ministry for individuals to use and develop these gifts to
build up the body of Christ.

Worship Choir and Hallelujah Singers rehearsals begin the week of August 1, 2010. Student and children's choirs will begin soon. Auditions for a new vocal team to help lead during PULSE will take place in August. To audition for choir or PULSE vocal team, contact Worship Pastor Steve Gray at steveg@ibc-lex.org.
